Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Media Visionairs B.V. (“Media Visionairs”, “we” or “us”) handles personal data collected through mediavisionairs.nl (the “website”) and through the contact we have with you as a result.

Media Visionairs B.V., Keizersgracht 520-H, 1017 EK Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is the controller for this data. That means we decide why and how it is processed. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch law.

• Contact details you give us: your name, company, work email address and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number.
• Details about your request: the markets you are interested in, your annual media budget range and anything you write in your message.
• Correspondence: the emails you send us and our replies.
• Technical data: when you visit the website, the pages you view, the website you came from, your browser type, language and time zone, and your IP address, which your browser shares with the services that deliver the website.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as information about health or religion. Please do not include it in your message.

• Directly from you, when you fill in the contact form or email us.
• Automatically, when you visit the website, through our hosting provider and the cookies described under “Cookies and visit statistics”.

We do not buy personal data from third parties.

• To respond to your request and discuss our services with you.Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
• To follow up on your request and discuss a possible collaboration.Legal basis: our legitimate interest in developing business relationships. You can ask us to stop at any time.
• To run, secure and improve the website, including visit statistics and protection against spam and abuse.Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure website that works well.
• To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping business records for tax purposes.Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

We keep personal data no longer than necessary for the purposes described above.

• Requests that do not lead to a collaboration: up to 12 months after our last contact.
• If you become a client: for the duration of our relationship, and afterwards for as long as the law requires. Dutch tax law requires businesses to keep their records for seven years.
• Visit statistics: for the period set by our hosting provider. We only look at them as totals, not per visitor.

We only share personal data when this is necessary for the purposes described above. Service providers that process data on our behalf may only use it to provide their service to us.

• Our hosting provider, which hosts the website, provides the visit statistics and sends the emails generated by the contact form.
• Cloudflare, which delivers and secures the website.
• Microsoft, which provides our email service (Microsoft 365).
• Professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer, where this is necessary.
• Government authorities, if we are legally required to share data with them.

Some of the providers listed above are based in the United States or may process data there. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for providers certified under it, or by the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss and unauthorised access. The website is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to form submissions and email is limited to the people at Media Visionairs who need it.

No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk as low as possible.

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• have incorrect or incomplete data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• have the processing of your data restricted;
• receive your data in a commonly used electronic format, or have it transferred to another party;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including follow-up about a possible collaboration;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@mediavisionairs.nl. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

The website does not use advertising cookies or cookies from social networks. It uses a small number of cookies that are needed to deliver the website and to count visits:

• session-id set by our hosting provider to count visits and page views. It expires after 30 minutes.
• __dpl a technical cookie set by our hosting provider, so that you see the same version of the website throughout your visit.
• __cf_bm set by Cloudflare to tell people and automated bots apart and protect the website. It expires after 30 minutes.

The visit statistics record the pages you view, the website you came from, and your browser, language and time zone. We only use them as totals, to understand how the website is used, and they are not used to follow you across other websites.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

The website contains links to other websites, such as Google Maps. This policy does not apply to those websites, so please read their own privacy policies.

The website is intended for business professionals and not for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

We may update this policy when our website or the way we process personal data changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make significant changes, we will make this clear on the website.
